HistoryEdit

The Southeast Texas Mavericks were founded in the 2006-2007 season as the Rio Grande Valley Silverados who were owned by Jerry Nelson Jr. The Silverados would top the ABA Power Rankings but leave the league for the 2007-2008 season for the rival Continental Basketball Association.

The next season saw the creation of the Southwest Texas Mavericks, who, like the Silverdos, would top the ABA Power Rankings, and would go on to win two championships in the next three seasons before leaving the league for a bid to join the NBA D-League.

After the attempt failed, the team moved to Shreveport/Bossier, Louisiana and is slated to return to the ABA for the 2013-2014 season.
